Welcome to the
2010 Michigan Boating Annual Directory

Michigan Boating CoverDear Boating Enthusiast,

Thank you for picking up a copy of this 2010 Michigan Boating Annual Directory. You’re probably a boater in our beautiful state — or would like to be some day. With more than 950,000 registered boats on file in Michigan, many others share your passion.

This 2010 Michigan Boating Annual Directory will be your helm-side companion and resource as you navigate around our waterways. This year’s Annual Directory is as informative as it is useful, with its comprehensive and easy-to-use listings of more than 300 marine businesses that comprise the Michigan Boating Industries Association (MBIA) membership across the state. In addition, you will find a number of interesting features on boating in Michigan.

As chairman of the Michigan Boating Industries Association, I’m pleased to inform you that a new association has been formed to unite the voices of Michigan boaters. The Boaters’ Association of Michigan (BAM) deserves your support as it will work to represent boaters in Lansing, preserve our waters and access to them and provide a number of cost-saving programs that will make your boating experience more fun and affordable than ever. Please consider joining BAM at www.boatmichigan.org.

I can assure you that we all look forward to the 2010 boating season with high hopes and great enthusiasm. We know an economic downturn cannot dampen our boating spirit, because we plan to be out on the water making even more memories than we did last year or the year before.

In Michigan, we have more boating opportunities than anywhere in the nation, and whether you love fishing, cruising, canoeing, jet skiing, waterskiing, sailing, wakeboarding or just relaxing in and around our hundreds of waterways, we encourage you to continue your adventure this season — perhaps with a new boat, or a maybe a new marina to call home.

Boating remains a favorite way to enjoy time with family and friends—just check out www.mbia.org for a list of excited boating-centered events for 2010—and to take in all the great scenery that abounds in Michigan. If you’d like to learn more, log on to www.boatmichigan.org or contact an MBIA dealership, marina or service provider today. You’ll find we’re a friendly group and we’re eager to help you discover the boating experience you’re seeking!

Eric Foster, MBIA Chairman
