With stunning landscaping, a spacious clubhouse with numerous amenities, plus 125 lots with greenspace and parkland, the Motorcoach Resort at Bay Harbor is becoming a favored destination for the luxury set as well.
Randall Henderson, president of signature Resorts which operates the 35-acre resort along u.s. 31, said the grounds opened in late June with an emphasis on creating a natural environment for the Class A motorcoach traveler.
While bungalows are planned as a future option for lot owners, in its early phase now the landscaped grounds are peaceful as a park, with plentiful pads for parking the largest of the land yachts on the roads today.
“These coaches are in the $1.2 to $1.6 million range. Their expectation of the level of amenities is high,” said Henderson. “We have tried here to give them what they expect.”
Amenities of the resort include a 9,000 square foot clubhouse, pool and spa, health club, billiards, card room, theater room, ponds and waterfalls, walking paths, tennis courts and putting green.
Henderson said operations at the motorcoach resort are first-class and draw on signature’s 35 years of experience in developing 16 different RV destinations around the country, including posh communities in Las Vegas and Naples, fla.
While lot ownership is available at the Bay Harbor resort, travelers are also able to rent lots for daily and monthly excursions throughout the season (May 1 to Oct. 31), the north’s most alluring time for those hitting the open road and looking for unparalleled natural beauty, Henderson said.
“There was no question we would open this resort in Northern Michigan,” he added. “This has been a resort area for 125 years. (The Motorcoach Resort) adds another dimension of accommodations to this historic resort area.”
