If all you have is your love, rentals are available for everything else (except, maybe, the bridal attendants).
“We have tents of various sizes, holding up to 160 people for a banquet or if it’s a stand-up event like a cocktail party, it can fit about 320 people,” said Tim Bloom, who coordinates rentals for Meyer Ace Hardware’s north location, in Petoskey.
Meyer rents everything to make a wedding reception memorable, including tables and chairs, champagne fountains, chafing dishes and tents of various sizes for small or large groups.
Helium tanks for balloons, artificial flame lighting and candelabras are also special reception touches rented by Ace, Bloom noted. The store also offers the set-up and take-down services.
In the busy summer wedding months, Bloom said the more notice for rentals, the better.
Taylor Rental is also a one-stop local shop for couples who choose to have their event at a special location.
Because of the beauty of the area, many couples want to hold outdoor ceremonies capitalizing on the natural amenities here. But people need a place to sit, and plates to eat from, and nice linens to fold in their laps.
Taylor Rental can provide those important components either at an off-site location, or at an area reception hall or restaurant if a bride and groom prefer a different linen or table style, for instance.

Renting a stylish ride for the bride and groom, their parents and attendants, can add an elegant and fun touch to the wedding celebration.
Jim Harris, owner of Quality Limousine based in Charlevoix, has been getting couples to the church on time for 18 years.
His daughter, Brenda Clark, said his fleet includes two Lincolns that seat 10 and 8. Northern Michigan is his service region and he can transport further distances for an added fee.
Weddings are the bulk of his business. Many times, couples will reserve one limo for the girls and one for the guys, enjoying refreshment en route and meeting up at the church together. Rates are $80 an hour for the 8-passenger limo and $100 for the ride that seats 10, with a two-hour minimum booking.
“I think it’s nice to have everybody together, where everyone can relax and talk, to go take pictures and even to go to the church and reception,” said Clark. “It’s nice to be all together and relax.”
