Aprés-Ski - Dining, Entertainment, Refreshments

Apres ski artAfter a long day of skiing or snowboarding out in the cold, there’s nothing like cozying up to a warm fire with delicious hot cocoa, beer or a cocktail.

At many Northern Michigan destinations, snow lovers can relish much more than just a warm glow. There are drinks, eats and entertainment to enjoy right off the slopes or just down the road.

“We think after you’re done with a day of skiing, there’s nothing better than a night of skiing,” said Jim Bartlett, general manager of Nub’s Nob. “But if our skiers really want to relax, we’ve got lots to help them.”

With rows of comfy chairs to nestle in while cold toes thaw in front of the lodge fireplace, visitors to Nub’s Nob can delight their palates with treats from the American Spoon Foods Gelato Cafe.

In addition to the coffee cart, snowy snackers can wander into the cafeteria, where Nub’s Nob staff hand-makes all their pies, desserts and soups. For those seeking cocktails, a trip across the hall to Nub’s Pub will allow them access to TV screens and a long list of drinks.

For entertainment, snow lovers will find a lineup of performers throughout the winter on holidays and Saturdays in the pub.

Entertainment can also be found weekends at the snowy base of Boyne Mountain’s slopes, just inside the Snowflake Lounge, in Boyne Falls.

Listen to the tunes while enjoying one of the popular hot wines, hot chocolate, schnapps or coffee drinks. The Trophy Room at Boyne Mountain is also open.

The Zoo Bar at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs offers fun and festivities in the spirit of the resort itself.
